The leaves were gently falling as I lay in the hammock pondering the wonders of nature and thinking of my wonderful family. So naturally, I started trying to fit their names into a mental crossword ... honest! Once I had one, I tried "improving" it in various ways. Not wanting to suffer alone, this task now becomes the next POTM:

XWORDS: Build a Crossword Puzzle
Deadline February 28th, 2005

THE SHORT PROBLEM STATEMENT

It is quite simple really: I'll give you a list of words and you use them to make a crossword puzzle in a 16x32 grid. You'll be able to use the words more than once in the grid and there is a special "flipper" square you can use as a wild card. The winner will be the program that can create the "best" fully connected crossword in one minute - the XWORDS details will tell you exactly what "best" means!

If it sounds interesting, sign up using the Members Section link on the left and start watching the forums for more details, current standings, how to submit your entry, and much discussion among the jolly band of POTM participants!
